We finally found Day 1 leader Dean Rojas. We’d been driving around
back roads, dirt roads, and walking through brush trying to find him
for about an hour. On this river system that’s a bit of a needle in a
haystack situation.
Rojas tells us he has four keepers in the livewell. As we were talking he caught his 5th and another, then culled.
I talked to a gentleman who lives nearby. He told me he hooked a 40
pound gar in the same area where Rojas is fishing.
