Today, on the way to the Elite tourney in La Crosse, Wisc., I got to visit Pure Fishing's operation in Spirit Lake, Iowa. This is a legendary facility where they do research and production for their brands, such as Berkley. Two things I was very impressed with: 1) there's a tremendous amount of science behind their products, and 2) it was exciting to see fishing gear being made in America, using innovative manufacturing processes.
