First stop, Hite

Our first stop this morning is on Brett Hite. He’s one of the favorites in this event and he’s showing us why.

In just the first few minutes of the day he’s boated two keepers. Both solid fish.

The second had some weight to it, possibly close to 4 pounds. Enough that Hite gave a hearty fist pump when he boat flipped it.

His average should be around 3 pounds. That’s not enough to shake up the world. But it’s a good start.

The weights are expected to be off a little in this event because of a prevalence of dirtier water. So Hite likes his start up until this point.

This is still Okeechobee, though, and we expect to see some giants before the day is done.
