Combs’ prediction

As we wind down to the final hour of the afternoon matchups, Keith Combs’ words from last night’s anglers’ meeting are starting to appear prophetic. These guys obviously haven’t had time to figure out the Niagara River yet, with only five fish having been caught so far this afternoon.

And it’s not exactly like they whacked ’em this morning.

“If you could catch 11 or 12 pounds in three hours, I think that would be excellent,” said Combs. “But I think you’ll have a chance to advance with a lot less than that. Somebody could catch four pounds and win a match, and somebody could catch 17 pounds and lose a match.”

Well, maybe more of the former rather than the latter so far. But it’s early in this event.
