We chatted with Hank Cherry about his son, who broke his collar bone recently and has had a couple of ear infections. Cherry told Steve Wright he’s eager to get home after six weeks on the road because his family needs him.
That can be a tougher call than you might imagine. Cherry has been on a roll this season and sits in 4th place in Toyota Angler of the Year standings. His inclination was to head on over to Lake Texoma to prepare for BASSfest. “Momma understands that,” he said. “But my 3-year old and 6-year old don’t.”
It will be another day or two before Cherry gets to head to North Carolina. He’s very likely to make the cut for Saturday. And if he does as well tomorrow as he’s done Thursday and Friday, he’ll be fishing on Sunday.
