Cherry loses another big bass

Hank Cherry entered Day 2 in 3rd place with 24-7, despite losing two big fish yesterday. He told Steve Wright one was a 7-pounder.  Today he’s moved up to 2nd place in BASSTrakk with nearly 20 pounds in livewell, and he just lost a big bass. It flew thrashing out of the water and came unbutton. I’m saying it was 6 to 7 pounds. Cherry himself came unhinged at that point. Jumping and shouting in frustration, then cradling his head in his arms. He seemed to get over it quickly. “I know this,” he said. “I got a $10,000 check.”

Shortly after that he caught a 4-pound keeper, and culled up several ounces.
