2012 JWC Contenders

These 12 teenagers are the only ones from across the globe to qualify to compete at the 2012 Bassmaster JWC, Oct. 27, on Alabama's Lake Wilson.

	Only a few Junior Bassmaster anglers from across the United States — plus Spain, South Africa and Canada — qualify to compete in one of six divisionals. And from there, only 12 qualify to compete in the 2012 Bassmaster Junior World Championship, fishing in one of two age groups (11 to 14 and 15 to 18). 	Nik Autrey, 19, is a member of the Inland Empire Bass Club in the Washington B.A.S.S. Federation Nation. He qualified for the JWC in the Western Divisional when he was 18. He enjoys hunting, going to church and spending time with his wife, Alysa.</p>

	Blake Betz, 19, of Louisiana will be representing the Central division in the JWC. He’s a member of the Junior Southwest Bassmasters of Denham Springs. He’s competing in the 15- to 18-year-olds division. He likes going to LSU football games and hanging out with his friends.</p>

	Christopher Chandler, 15, will be competing in the 11- to 14-year-olds age group of the JWC in the Central division. He’s a member of the Junior Southwest Bassmasters and a resident of Louisiana. He enjoys deer hunting, 3-D archery tournaments, camping and mud riding.</p>

	Alexander Datz, 14, will represent the Northern division in the 11- to 14-year-olds age group. He’s a member of the Boat Boys in Ohio. Besides fishing, he enjoys water skiing and playing Xbox.</p>

	Tyler Evans, 14, qualified for the JWC in the Western division. The Montana angler will compete in the younger age group. He’s a member of the Grizzly Bassers, and he enjoys several outdoor activities, including bow hunting, cross-country running, skiing, backpacking and participating in Boy Scouts.</p>

	Alex Goff, 15, fishes with the Mon Valley Bassmasters in West Virginia. He’ll be representing the Mid-Atlantic division at the JWC, fishing in the younger age group. He likes hunting, wrestling, playing baseball and riding four-wheelers and motorcycles.</p>

	Corey Horelick, 18, will represent the East in the older age group. He lives in Connecticut but fishes for the Rhode Island Junior Bassmasters. He enjoys camping, hunting and playing soccer.</p>

	Willem Lubbinge, 19, is making a journey farther than any other JWC competitor — from across the ocean in South Africa. He’s a member of the Rebel Bassmasters, and he enjoys spending time in the gym, running, hunting and listening to music.</p>
