Marshals pick the Potomac winner

Bassmaster Elite Series Marshals get to ride around with the pros and learn a ton about the given fishery that week, but most already know a thing or two about their home lake or river. With this in mind, we sat down and asked the Marshals to pick the winner of this week’s Elite Series event on the Potomac River, and to gauge the estimated winning weight.

Zach Blalock chose Adrian Avena with a total of 53-6 for four days. “Jersey Boy” as he is nicknamed is on the short list of favorites this week.

Carson Orellana is a college angler that just finished up the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship a few weeks ago and made the trip. At first he said he wanted it to take over 100 pounds, but he thought about it again and chose Brandon Card to win with 62-1.

CW Reed picked Dave Lefebre to win with 65-12. Lefebre was touted as one to watch out for by Mark Zona in the Livewell preview of this event.

Rob Canady picks Greg Hackney to get back in rhythm with 68-14.

Another vote for Hackney as Michael Kraal picks him, but he thinks it’ll take 71-5 to win.

Another vote for Lefebre as Chris Stevenson thinks 68-3 gets it done.

Dave Zimmerman thinks Timmy Horton will have a flashback to his win back in the early 2000’s here. He thinks 62-3 will be enough.

Steven Costanzo picks Chris Lane with 66-3.

Kenny Glaveskos picks John Crews with 52-5 in a low “grinder” tournament.

The first vote for Jacob Powroznik is in! Jim Sutton thinks 62.5 will get him the win.

Why not Kevin VanDam? With two regular season wins and a Classic berth via the Niagara Bracket, Davis S. thinks he will keep the momentum rolling.

Pow! Another Chris Lane pick as Charles Prue thinks 62 even will get it done.

Lefebre gains another vote as Logan Summers picks him to win with 61-8.

Archie Musgrove is going west-coast on this pick and thinks Brent Ehrler will win the Potomac with over 67 pounds.

Longtime Bassmaster Marshal, Brian Drake goes with Dave Lefebre and 74-8.

John Thompson thinks the Hack Attack will get back on track and win with 64 pounds.

Another vote for the Crews Missile as Stephen LaRose thinks 68-14 is the winning mark.

The Big Bass Specialist Ish Monroe gets picked by Patrick Little to win with 72-5.

Mike Malamphy picks the Jersey Boy Adrian Avena with 68 pounds.

One word, but a lot of character. Rob Shaw is going with IKE and 84 pounds on the Potomac.

Scott Favors picks Lefebre and 68-7.

The Hack Attack with another vote as Mike B. picks him and almost 74 pounds to win.

Then the husband-wife duo of John and Deb McDougall pick Dave Lefebre and Greg Hackney respectively and 74-6 and 72-0.
