“I’ve never been so happy to catch a 2-pounder,” said McMillan. Starting the day with a 6-pound, 14-ounce lead over second, each fish no matter the size makes McMillan harder and harder to catch.

but this one turns out to be a small keeper. A keeper still though, and those are hard to come by.

Clouds and wind are not helpful for McMillan's pattern. He needs to be able to see down into the water so he can spot clumps of hydra growing up from the bottom. Some of his better fish have come from submerged clumps in 10-to-12-feet of water. These clouds are making it very difficult to see where to pitch.
