The pre-tournament meeting was packed. We had a good turnout for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Northern Open at Lake St. Clair. I can understand why. The fishing is fantastic here.

Tournament Director Chris Bowes goes over the rules and partner pairings. We are lucky to have this guy working for us. Also, for the first time ever, the partner pairings were text messaged to each contestant. Very convenient.

I make plans with my first day partner, Michigan’s John Ling. He was fun to fish with.

My five bass were all alive after fishing on Day Two. They weighed only 15 pounds, but I enjoyed my final day at St. Clair.
