Day 3 with Powroznik

Jacob Powroznik started south of the takeoff ramp in the back of a creek and was sharing water with Randall Tharp who was knocking on the door of the Top 10 as well.

The area was chocked full of hydrilla and there was a small boat lane that didn't have vegetation growing up to the surface.

Randall Tharp didn't go as deep as Powroznik did into the creek, but instead fished some of the deeper cover on the edges.

The tide changes everyday and with that the anglers have to stay true to their gameplan because if they aren't in the right area at the right time then their whole rotation could get out of whack.

The hydrilla was so thick it was hard to fish anything else other than a heavy weight and punching through it.

But Tharp was able to throw a moving bait around those deeper edges where the hydrilla didn't grow as high.

After starting in this spot for the first 2 1/2 hours of the day, Powroznik headed out.

His second spot was quite different from the first as he was closer to the main river and wasn't fishing really thick grass, instead it was isolated clumps of grass.

Bobby Lane was nearby and already had a limit, but was looking for  a kicker to make it to Sunday.

Lane would go on to finish 17th this week. He was happy to be back at the Potomac and he mentioned it was one of his favorite fisheries.

Keith Combs started the day in 12th and was also in 2nd in Toyota Angler of the Year points behind Gerald Swindle.

Powroznik was also in the thick of that hunt as he was in 3rd place in the AOY standings.

J-Proz made a run back to his starting creek after having no luck at stops 2 or 3.

Powroznik kept plugging away hoping the high tide would help his bite and he had a flurry in the future.
