The new look of Bassmaster Magazine

Get a sneak preview of the newly redesigned Bassmaster Magazine.

Bassmaster Magazine has had the same design since November 2006, so we decided it was time to freshen up both the look and content of the “Worldwide Authority On Bass Fishing.” Editor James Hall provided us with some context and explanation for the changes you’ll soon be seeing in the July issue of Bassmaster Magazine. You can click on any image below to open up a much larger version of it. All of us here at B.A.S.S. are extremely proud of the new magazine, but we would love to hear what you think.

A membership to B.A.S.S., which includes a subscription to  Bassmaster  Magazine, is available at  Bassmaster.comBassmaster Magazine is also available on newsstands.

Cover

We shifted from a two-line nameplate to a single line treatment. This will give us more flexibility with choosing cover images. Also, we are plugging four stories in the overline, so you have a better idea of what is inside the magazine.

Ask the Experts

A new look to a reader favorite! Plus, we answer more member questions with the new design.

10-Minute Angler

This is a new department that we believe will become very popular with readers. It is designed for those who have just a moment to consume content. You will get a quick DIY project, a formula from an Elite Series pro on the perfect gear combination for a specific presentation, and a quick guide on lures that are most likely (and unlikely) to produce this month.

Triple Threat

This is a new minifeature that is sure to be a hit. We identify a scenario you are likely to face during the month of publication, and offer three different solutions to catch bass based on the scenario.

“Redeyed Princess”

With the new design, Bassmaster will be bringing readers more long-form features focused on great storytelling. Wade L. Bourne hits a homerun with the “Redeyed Princess …”

Destinations

This new quarterly feature brings to life great fishing destinations through stunning photography and quick descriptions of awesome fisheries.

Custom Baits

We are going to have fun with the layouts of interesting features. This one may inspire you to get some ink.

Day On The Lake

Our most popular feature in the magazine has received a facelift. We are now including more photography in a timeline format to give readers a better sense of how the pro’s 8 hours ticked away.

What’s it Worth?

We are including more member content than ever! This department, as well as Lunker Club, Mail Call and Weekend Angler include more comments, photos and questions from B.A.S.S. members than we’ve ever included. So B.A.S.S. members, as much as anyone, shape the content of their magazine.

Parting Shot

When B.A.S.S. tournaments are being contested, this photo spread is dedicated to the anglers who placed high. Once tourneys are over, this space is used to highlight some of the brilliant photography from Bassmaster contributors.

We hope you enjoy the new Bassmaster Magazine!
