Wear your life jacket to work tomorrow!

Join your colleagues, peers and friends around the world in demonstrating how easy it is to wear a life jacket.

To kick off National Safe Boating Week, which is May 16-22, organizations are encouraging anglers to wear their life jackets to work on Friday, May 15, to show others how easy it is to wear a life jacket — even at work!

Take a photo of yourself wearing your life jacket at work and share it on Facebook on the ReadySetWearIt page, post it on Twitter by tagging @ReadySetWearIt and hashtagging #wearit, or e-mail ymoslehian@safeboatingcouncil.org.

Then, go out on the water and wear it again on Saturday, May 16, which is the sixth annual Ready, Set, Wear It! Life Jacket World Record Day. Participants in cities around the globe will gather to set a world record for the most life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated. Last year, this activity set a world record with 6,973 participants.

“These efforts are part of a yearlong campaign to promote safe and responsible boating,” said the National Safe Boating Council, in partnership with the Canadian Safe Boating Council. “Boating safety partners across the U.S. and Canada are teaming up to educate the public about life jacket wear and safe boating.”
