DECATUR, Ala. — Sign up now to compete in the first ever B.A.S.S. High School Invitational, July 20, on Alabama’s Wheeler Lake.

The best eight teams from the Invitational will be invited to compete in the first B.A.S.S. High School Exhibition at the 2014 Bassmaster Classic in Birmingham, Ala. Two other teams will compete as well, one from the Alabama Sports Festival in June and the other from the Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation high school qualifier in November.

The entry fee for the Invitational is $30 per student, and the deadline to register is July 15. The entry fee includes a subscription to Bassmaster Magazine and B.A.S.S. Times, plus the 2014 national dues for the B.A.S.S. High Schoo Nation. Students can register after July 15 for $40 each.

The festivities begin Friday, July 19, at Ingalls Harbor Pavilion in Decatur. Registration begins at 4 p.m., followed by the tournament briefing and dinner.

The following day, high school competitors will launch at 5:30 a.m. from Ingalls Harbor Boat Launch. The anglers will weigh in at the launch site at 2 p.m. that day.
