New Mexico builds a dock for access

Members of an adult and junior club of New Mexico built a new dock on Morgan Lake to improve access for anglers.

Members of the Four Corners Bassmasters and Four Corners Junior Bassmasters worked together to build a new dock on Morgan Lake to improve access for anglers.

“We removed the old dock from the water and took it to the landfill,” said David Herrera, youth director for the New Mexico B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.

Six volunteers — four adults and two teens — worked together for a total of about 120 hours to build a new dock in place of the old one. Adult club members were Monty Striegel of S&S Flowtesting; Jeremeiah Striegel, Elm Ridge Drilling; Jerry Stevens, Key Energy; and Herrera. Jordan McMorris and Zack Trujillo of the Four Corners Junior Bassmasters also volunteered.

Lobo Oilfield Service donated materials to the project, and United Rentals of Farmington, N.M., loaned the clubs a crane for the work.
