Minnesota president appointed to committee

Peter Perovich is one of only 25 appointees to the Minnesota DNR Fisheries and Wildlife Oversight Committees.

Peter Perovich, president of the Minnesota B.A.S.S. Federation Nation, has been appointed to serve on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Fisheries Oversight Committee.

Tom Landwehr, DNR commissioner, made the appointments. Half of the 50 applicants were chosen to fill these positions.

The Fisheries Oversight Committee and the Wildlife Oversight Committee were both created as the result of recent legislations aimed at streamlining and improving the efficiency of Game and Fish Fund oversight committees created in 1994.

Perovich and his peers are responsible for reviewing the agency’s annual Game and Fish Fund report and writing a report on their findings. The $90 million in the Game and Fish Fund pays for the fish, wildlife, enforcement and ecological management of Minnesota.
