Live coverage comes to Elite Series

After a successful debut at the GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro, live on-the-water coverage is coming to the Elite Series.

The GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro broke new ground in the area of live on-the-water coverage, providing fans 12 hours of action over the three-day tournament. Hundreds of thousands of bass fans watched Casey Ashley, Randy Howell, Mike Iaconelli and others compete in real time.

Fans loved this new way of following the action, seeing exciting fish catches as they happened and hearing the Classic anglers describe their strategy as the tournament unfolded. The live show also featured interviews and analysis. The reception was overwhelmingly positive.

"Are you guys going to do this for the Elite Series?"

This question came up dozens of times throughout our social platforms. And the answer is, YES. This Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. Central Time, come watch Bassmaster Elite Series Live Presented by Lowrance right here on bassmaster.com. You can expect to see the familiar faces of Tommy Sanders, Mark Zona, Dave Mercer and special Elite Series guests as we follow the action on the Sabine River live.

There's just one bit of possible bad news to share, though. The Sabine River is one of our most challenging events to cover. First of all, it's huge. Anglers could, and probably will, be a hundred miles apart from each other. Also, cell service outside of the cities, especially in that part of the world, is not optimal for broadcasting a live stream.

So while we plan on covering this event live just like we did at the Bassmaster Classic, we know for a fact that Lake Hartwell is a much friendlier environment for going live in the boat.

So what will you see on Saturday morning at 8 a.m.? We're not entirely sure, and that's part of the fun. If none of the live cameras work, maybe we'll see if Mark Zona can juggle!
