Lee positioning himself for Day 3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Jordan Lee ended Day 1 in 40th place. Now, he’s got just today to make up enough ground to make the Top 25 cut tonight for the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro.

And he’s been working it all day, with more than 21 pounds to his credit according to the unofficial BASSTrakk leaderboard. It has him in 13th place for Day 2, but no one will know until after the weigh-in how close that prediction is to being accurate.

Lee, who’s representing the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series, thanked his Auburn University teammate, Shane Powell, from the stage yesterday.

“I know I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you, Shane,” he said. “I’m looking forward to seeing you up here one day, too.

Tune in today for the live weigh-in to see if Lee will be fishing tomorrow or heading home. If he competes on the Day 3, he’ll be the first College Series representative to the make the Top 25 cut in Classic competition.
