How to get involved with High School fishing

The kickoff of the Bassmaster High School Series is quickly approaching. Here is what you need to do to ensure you are ready to participate.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The kickoff of the 2015 Bassmaster High School Series is quickly approaching. Here is a quick checklist on how to get signed up. For a full detailed process, click here.

As a reference, all clubs will need to be registered members of the Bassmaster High School Nation. A member fee of $20 per angler covers dual memberships for B.A.S.S. and B.A.S.S. Nation. Once affiliated, then you can register for the tournament. The tournament registration form can be found here.

We have some really big plans for the Opens that are coming up. Specifically, we will talk about the Southern Open that will take place Feb. 14 on Lake Martin in Alex City, Ala. At the tournament meeting, all the anglers and competitors will be greeted by our sponsors and receive some goodies from each one. Then we will have a tournament briefing to go through all the processes, followed by a meal. There may also be some pro anglers there who you will be able to meet. The next morning, we will send you out to fish Lake Martin, followed by the weigh-in on the Bassmaster stage at Wind Creek State Park.

These tournaments will be covered just like the Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens presented by Allstate or the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series events. We will have photos, videos, stories, the live-streaming weigh-ins, and much more on Bassmaster.com. In other words, the students will be fishing a “big time” event.  You don’t want to miss it!

For the specifics on the tournament information, see the tournament info sheet here.
