GoFree launches Insight Genesis Varsity Rewards program

Tulsa, Okla. – GoFree – the provider of digital content and services, and part of the Navico family of marine electronics brands including Lowrance, Simrad and B&G – announced today the launch of the Insight Genesis Varsity Rewards service learning program. With sign-ups already underway, the program runs March 1 to Oct. 31, 2016.

The Varsity Rewards program is designed to encourage high school anglers to take care of their local waterways as a team. Registered teams can simply capture and upload sonar recordings to the online Insight Genesis map-creation tool. Each uploaded acre is worth one point added to a team’s rewards account. Points can then be redeemed for prizes of either Lowrance equipment or branded logo wear. All recordings must be completed with a Lowrance fishfinder/chartplotter.

In addition to the points rewards, users will create personalized, accurate and up-to-date lake maps, yielding multiple benefits. The maps result in better fishing and safer boating, and promote ecological awareness and conservation. Data from the recorded sonar logs also allows Lowrance and GoFree to share vital information with key environmental partners, such as the state’s Department of Natural Resources, giving them access to more accurate information, more frequently than they can collect on their own.

Schools can win as many rewards as their points allow. Points are nontransferable, and expire on Dec. 1, 2016. Points cannot be carried over into another year. To redeem Varsity Rewards, users refer to values on the Varsity Rewards redemption chart, and then submit an email request to varsityrewards@navico.com with details. Upon receipt, redemption requests will be verified and confirmed prior to shipping. Only authorized high school team administrators are allowed to submit redemption requests.

Lowrance and Insight Genesis will be attending the following B.A.S.S. High School National events with Lowrance Pro Staff featuring tips and gifts available for all teams attending.

  • March 12, 2016 – Toledo Bend, Texas
  • April 16, 2016 – Lake Guntersville, Alabama
  • June 5, 2016 – Clinton Lake, Illinois
  • National Championship, Date & Location TBD

Insight Genesis is the cloud-based map creation technology from GoFree. Users can generate private maps from recorded sonar data or choose to share selected trips with the Insight Genesis Social Map community. To record a sonar log, users simply activate the standard sonar-logging feature on a compatible chartplotter from Lowrance, Simrad or B&G and record all subsequent sonar data to an SD card. Once recorded, the sonar log file can be uploaded to the Insight Genesis cloud service via a PC or GoFree cloud-enabled multifunction display, where it is then converted into maps. With adjustable contours, bottom hardness and vegetation layers, GoFree’s Insight Genesis software will greatly improve anglers experiences on the water.
