Need help picking your team? Here are my choices:
Bucket A: Chris Lane
Well, I don't guess this is a surprise. He calls Guntersville home and already has a Classic title and is just off an emphatic win in the last Bassmaster Elite Series event last year. One of my other choices in this bracket would be the 2013 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year Aaron Martens. With four second-place Classic finishes, he's always a good pick in the big show. And of course KVD...
Bucket B: Brent Chapman
Chapman is the 2012 AOY, and has 12 Classics behind him (his highest finish has been fifth place). If the jerkbait bite is on, with his power fishing tactics, he should do fairly well. Tommy Biffle is also a very good pick in this bracket. Almost everyone has had their ups and downs on Guntersville, as has Biffle, but I think he'll do well.
Bucket C: Brandon Palaniuk
Brandon is one of the four names that stands out to me here. I had to draw a name for this pick because it's a pretty heavy-hitter set bucket, but Palaniuk's Classic track record is why I put him as my pick. My other three were Randall Tharp, Jason Christie and Hank Cherry. It's your choice. But I pick the fellow young-gun.
Bucket D: Jordan Lee
Fellow Carhartt Bassmaster College Series angler and an Alabama native, Jordan Lee has got the knowledge of the place to possibly win the Classic. If he doesn't win it, I bet he will be up in the standings. As for my second pick, I'd have to say Jonathon VanDam.
Bucket E: Coby Carden
This bucket is usually a tuffy for me. I'd have to say my pick would have to be Cody Carden, because he calls Alabama home, like two other of my picks. I really think this Classic will be won by an Alabamian because of the weather changes this week and the short practice time.
