10 ways to follow the 2014 Classic

You can keep up online with the Classic in a way that will make you feel like you've got a front-row seat.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — It is the biggest event in all of bass fishing. The world’s best anglers will descend on Alabama’s Lake Guntersville on Feb. 21 vying for the trophy in the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro.

The Classic is an amazing event to attend. But if you can’t be in Birmingham or Guntersville in person, we’ve got you covered. You can keep up online in a way that will make you feel like you’ve got a front-row seat.

Here are nine ways we’ll keep you informed:

1. Live weigh-ins

From the comfort of your home, you can watch the pros weigh in right in front of you on your computer screen without delay. You’ll know who wins at the same time the winner finds out! Tune in to the live weigh-ins beginning at 3 p.m. CT all three days of competition.

2. Lowrance War Room

Listen to what B.A.S.S. officials hear from the water via the Lowrance War Room. It begins at 9 a.m. CT each day of competition. Want insider info? This is the place to get it. It lasts until around 2:30 p.m. all three days.

3. #bassmasterclassic

Beginning with this tournament, you can watch the coverage unfold by following the hashtag #bassmasterclassic on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, Google+ and Pinterest. Never before has it been so easy to watch a tournament via the social media platform of your choice.

Plus, on Twitter, you can follow the Classic contenders or Classic insiders. And get official updates via the @BASS_Nation account.

4. Live Blog

The Live Blog is where our reporters’ and Marshals’ on-the-fly updates are posted throughout the competition. You won’t believe the number of photos posted here throughout the day. It’s one of the best ways to keep up with everything that’s happening while the anglers are on the water.

5. BASSCam

Watch BASSCam for near-live video updates from the water, as well as at launch and as the anglers come in.

6. Live Leaderboard

During the live weigh-ins, watch the Live Leaderboard to see who’s on track to make the Top 25 cut for Sunday.

7. BASSTrakk

The very popular BASSTrakk is the program in which contenders’ catches are reported via the app on the Bassmaster Marshals’ smartphones. You can keep up all day to see how your favorite competitor is doing. On Sunday, the BASSTrakk map will be visible, so you can see where the Top 25 anglers are fishing.

8. Toyota Hooked Up!

On Toyota Hooked Up!, you can watch Bassmaster editor James Hall as he interviews legends and newsmakers from the Bassmaster Classic Expo presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s sure to be entertaining, and it lets you see the non-competition side of the Classic.

9. Live video

It’s the Bassmaster Classic, so we’re pulling out all the stops. We’ll have more live streaming video than ever, including “red carpet” interviews at the Night of Champions (Wednesday, Feb. 19, beginning at 6:15 p.m. CT), coverage of take-off (6:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday), First Look with Davy Hite and Jeff Kriet (as anglers come off the water around 2:30 p.m. CT Friday through Sunday) and press conferences with the leaders (immediately following weigh-in each day).
