Gear 41 never-before-seen products Here's a smattering of brand-spankin' new gear from ICAST 2013. Posted on July 9, 2013 Sebile Racer Crank The Racer Crank is part of Sebile's new value-priced lures, the Action First line. The line feature all the high-end attributes that make Sebile lures top-notch, but have a more reasonable price. Like all the baits in the Action First series, the Racer Crank has its weight on the outside in the front of the belly. Sebile Squarebill Sunfish The Squarebill Sunfish is Sebile's version of those shallow-water prowlers in the sunfish family. This crank has a tall body and high buoyancy to deflect off of cover with ease. Sebile Bull Crank The Bull Crank is a wrecking ball designed to smash into cover and get bass out of their hiding places. Sebile Bull Minnow The Bull Minnow is a shallow-diving jerkbait or twitchbait. Sebile lipless crankbait This is one of two lipless crankbaits that are part of the Action First line. Sebile Star Shiner The Star Shiner is a deeper-diving jerkbait. Sebile Vibe Machine The Vibe Machine is a lipless crankbait that has more vibration than rattling sound. Strike King KVD Flatside If Kevin VanDam puts his name on something, you know that it's going to catch fish. This flat sided version of his crankbait line is better suited for cold water with its tight shimmy. Strike King KVD spinnerbait This spinnerbait is the one that KVD himself puts his name and logo on. Its trailer is cut to his specifications as is the wire and skirt. Strike King KVD Splash Seeing a pattern here? KVD himself was turned loose in Strike King's lure design lab and this premium topwater is the resulting popper. Strike King Rage Blade This is like no other bladed jig you've seen. It's got a unique action that chops up the shallows and bashes off cover with reckless, fish-attracting abandon. Berkley: Grass Pig With the success of the original Grass Pig, Berkley has downsized the soft swimbait to better match the forage on more lakes. Berkley: Papa Pit Boss The most popular design in the Havoc family now has a big brother, the Papa Pit Boss. The design is the same, but the Papa measures a full 5 inches. Berkley: The Jerk The Jerk is a Mike Iaconelli-designed jerkbait that has action no matter what the lure is doing. As it falls on a heavy hook, The Jerk shimmys side to side and as it is twitched, the tail whips wildly. Berkley: Flat Dawg Mike Iaconelli designed the Flat Dawg to boast the most action of any soft stickbait on the market. Its flat design makes it quiver and shimmy, while the tiny crook in the tail gives off even more action. Strike King: KVD Dream Shot The original 4-inch Dream Shot was designed by Kevin VanDam and was used in Jonathon VanDam's win on Green Bay last year; so yeah, it's proven. Now, it's got a bigger brother. Strike King: KVD Swim-N-Shiner Small, plastic swimbaits have been in huge demand since the Alabama Rig hit the scene, and now Kevin VanDam has offered his $.02 in the design of a swimbait, the Swim-N-Shiner. The adage "big fish want a big meal" might apply directly to the Rage Cut-R. This bulky action-tail worm is hearty enough to appeal to big bass and has enough action to get attention in murky water. Abu Garcia Veracity The Veracity combine premium components and input from pros like Brandon Palaniuk to create a line of rods that boasts more technology than the $149 price tag might suggest. Mitchell 300 ProMitchell, inventor of the world's first spinning reel, has raised the bar with the introduction of the 300 Pro. This reel has 10 bearings a 5.8:1 gear ratio and holds 180 yards of 12-pound mono. The Bail Halo adds strength to the rotor so that the line lay is perfect even under high stress. The best part? This thing retails for $69.95. The Morrum is back! Well, it's been available in Europe and Japan, but the iconic round reel is being offered as one of several reels to be brought to the US by Abu Garcia this year. The high-speed reel is made from a one-piece aluminum frame for strength and light weight, and Garcia's latest IVCB-IV brake system let you chuck baits farther than any other round reel out there. The Orra is back with more features and a lower price point. For around $100, this reel has 11 bearings, a stout frame and a dual braking system that was previously found on high-end Revos. With temple tips and nose pads, Falcon will stay on the wearer's face without sliding down the nose. The frame is in black, and the polarized lenses come in three color options. Retail price for all of Berkley's sunglasses is $25 to $45. Berkley Thunder Berkley Thunder protects eyes from the sun and makes the wearer look smooth. Thunder comes with Revo mirror coating on the lenses, which are polarized and scratch resistant. Berkley Zephyr Berkley Zephyr has a sleek performance wrap frame that fits comfortably on the face. Included among the frame choices is a camo model. Lenses feature Revo mirror coating, and they're scratch resistant, too. Simms Acklins The Acklins jacket from Simms is lightweight and waterproof, perfect for warm afternoon showers. It's made with three-layer Gore-Tex fabric technology. It has a three-point cinch hood and a corrosion-resistant zipper. Acklins also incorporates a secure hand pocket and zips in the armpits to allow the wearer to open for ventilation. Simms Tricomp Simms' Tricomp line of technical clothing is lightweight and comfortable. It comes with a handy sunglass chamois patch for wiping your sunglasses. The shirt retails for $119.95. Boo Flex Rig You know those âRunning Depthâ indicators on crankbait packages? Ignore them. The new Boo Flex Rig lets you fish any lure at any depth, adds miles of casting distance to lightweight baits and puts the lure in the strike zone for almost the entire cast. The Boo Flex Rig consists of a baitfish-shaped head for weight and attraction on a super-strong, flexible wire that takes light, buoyant lures to the bottom (or any depth), releasing anglers from the constraints of running depths and limited casting distance. BOOYAH Boo Rig The Boo Rig has a center lure arm made of super-strong, flexible, nylon-encased wire that allows crankbaits and other lures to swim naturally. The Boo Rig features four stainless steel outer arms with willowleaf blades to produce flash and vibration, but the center lure arm is flexible, allowing anglers to use any lure â not just a swimbait â from a crankbait to a jig. BOOYAH Boo Spin Rig The BOOYAH Boo Spin Rig opens the door to unlimited possibilities. Consisting of a weighted baitfish-shaped head and a pair of spinnerbait blades attached to a super-strong, flexible wire, the Boo Spin Rig lets anglers attach any lure in their tacklebox to create a look and action never before achieved. BOOYAH Boo Teaser Rig The Boo Teaser Rig features four stainless steel outer arms with teaser grubs (included) to add the baitfish school look and vibration of a castable umbrella rig, but the center lure arm is flexible, allowing anglers to use any lure â not just a swimbait â from a crankbait to a jig. Plus, the Boo Teaser Rig is legal anywhere you fish. Strike King Tour Grade Titanium RigThis might be the burliest umbrella rig on the market. The wire arms are made with titanium, so when fish try to make a mess of your rig, the arms just pop back into place. Never again be without pliers or a cutter with these handy anodized pliers from Berkley. With the supplied tether and holster, they're never far from hand. Quit using your teeth to bite through mono and fluorocarbon. It's just a matter of time before your grill starts looking like you brush your teeth with gravel. Keep the diminutive, powerful and convenient Nipper handy and save your smile. Simms PFD If you need an explanation as to why you need one of these, Darwin might have your number. This PFD is lightweight and doesn't get in the way while fishing. Simms Pliers These pliers are cut from aluminum so they won't weigh you down or corrode. Plus, they've got a nifty side cutter that's a cinch to use.
