Gear Review: Stormr Aero Series

What is it?

Stormr Aero Series

What sets it apart?

Stormr upped its game with an advanced rain gear system that blends superior waterproofing with breathable material, flexibility features and a mid-weight construction that won’t weigh down and impose wearying fatigue. Made from a 3-layer, DWR treated 20,000mm waterproof and 20,000g/m2 breathable Variable-stretch Advanced Performance Raingear (VAPR) Tech material, the Aero jacket and bib are made to insulate you from the elements without sacrificing comfort and/or mobility.

How do I use it?

Highlights in the Aero’s design include YKK AquaGuard zippers, internal neoprene wrist seals (a must for locking out intrusive moisture and cold), multiple high volume pockets, articulated adjustable hood, knees and seat, and internal waist adjustments for just the right fit. Bolstering the protection, the jacket and bib feature full-length interior storm flaps, while chest hand-warmer rests are conveniently placed for giving fingers a break from the chill.

Angler’s insight:

So, do you shiver with every gust of icy wind and wince when rain drops sneak into collars and cuffs, or do you stumble around in a suit of armor that protects you well, but greatly reduces your range of motion? Apparently, Stormr considers that choice passé, because the Aero packs a lot of element-stopping technology into a form that’ll let you kneel, bend, reach and stretch as needed. Articulated knees with abrasion-resistant panels, adjustable wrist and ankle cuffs; such details keep anglers comfortable and functional.
