Gear Review: Rapid Line Guide & Clip

What is it?

Rapid Line Guide & Clip

What sets it apart?

Picture the wire clip atop a drop shot weight, but instead of the lead sinker, a narrow plastic cap terminates the opposite end. That’s the Rapid Line Guide. Switch that cap for a fat plastic disc and you have the Rapid Line Clip. The wire clip’s significantly longer on the guide, but the same attachment method works for both — slip your line through the wide part, cinch it into the tight part and the accessory ain’t coming off until you say so.

How do I use it?

Common fishing frustration: You’re threading line through the guides, you lose your grip and Zip goes the line, back through all your guides before you can say “wind knot.” The Rapid Line Guide prevents this by providing a convenient handle, as well as a threading device that’ll fit through even micro guides. If you slip, the tool’s long enough and heavy enough to hold its ground. The Line Clip’s more of a babysitter; it holds loose line at your rod tip or at the reel for those in-between moments.
