On May 3rd, high school teams competed at Clinton Lake for a spot in the IBN High School Championship this coming June. The weather cooperated, and so did the fish. Benton High School's Dailus Richardson and Trevor McKinney came to the scale in a big way with a five-fish limit at 16.17 pounds to take 1st place at the event.
Lemont High School’s Jack Lambert and Tommy Rimbo took 2nd with 9.90 pounds, and Jack had Big Bass for 4.19 pounds. Aurora Christian grabbed 3rd with 9.03 lbs.
These three teams now qualify to compete at the 2014 IBN High School Championship on June 29th at Lake Springfield. The top two teams from the Championship will move on to compete at the Bassmaster High School Championship for $60,000 in college scholarships and a new Triton boat.
