So long Klein, hello Lee

The search for Gary Klein ended after nearly 2 and 1/2 hours. The good news is back where we started this morning at Three Forks Harbor. On the shoreline opposite the harbor is a steep bluff. Time and erosion have populated the bank with fallen trees. It’s a fish magnet as Terry Butcher found out at this very spot this time last year. It’s here that he nearly won the 2013 Central Open.

And it's here we find Jordan Lee. He’s got a smokin’ five-bass limit weighing about 14 pounds. His co-angler just boated a five-pounder. And the fish keep coming.

Both anglers are catching them on crankbaits fished through limbs of submerged trees and visible laydowns.

If attitude is everything, then nobody else in this tournament has more confidence than Lee. Last night he qualified for an invitation to the 2015 Bassmaster Elite Series.

After the time-consuming search-and-miss mission for Klein we have no idea how he or the rest of the dozen are doing. It really doesn’t matter. How fun it is to watch Jordan Lee get primed for next season’s Elite Series.
