Skeet strikes paydirt

As we were debating whether to stay on Skeet Reese any longer, the California pro stuck a huge bass. The fish wallowed with its huge head out of the water through multiple surface eruptions before Reese could get a grip on its lip. The fish looked like an 8-pounder to Bowman, and Skeet agreed with that assessment.

After a quick celebration with his marshal, Reese deposited the bass in his livewell and went back to probing the tules with a pair of lures. One presentation is slow and painstaking; the other involves rapidly reeling and twitching. We can't tell from here just what he's using, nor do we know which of the presentations paid off with that giant bass. We've decided to camp on Reese's spot a bit longer.

Bowman got some great shots of the fight. Look for a dynamite photogallery from him when we get back to dry land and connectivity.
