All week long, Chris Lane has worked hard to keep noise at a minimum in the narrow canal he's fishing with water that runs barely deep enough for a bass boat.
He's one of the more accommodating anglers when it comes to the media, but he even asked that we stay back quite a ways in the BASS media boat to avoid spooking his fish.
So it probably didn't help him any this morning that he had to crank his outboard to slice through another barrier of aquatic plants once he was deep into the canal. He had to push through a barrier of water hyacinths to access the canal at all.
He's leaving the canal now, still without a fish.
