Palaniuk has seen an absolute giant

Talking with anglers is something Mark Zona does to check the pulse of any event.
Speaking with Brandon Palaniuk after Day 2, Zona learned some big news. Palaniuk, who had the second-largest bag of 18-8 on Friday, told Zona he saw a giant.
"He said he thought it was a carp following his swimbait until it turned," Zona said. "It was the largest bass he has ever seen -- 14 pounds."
The state record largemouth was a 16-14 caught by Dale Uden in 1996. It was taken from the Colorado River, but way down near the Mexican border at Yuma.
