First person I ran across at the takeoff was tournament director, Trip Weldon. I was trying to think of an event when we might have gone when it was this windy.
Trip recalls a Toledo Bend event that was pretty breezy. Really despite the wind and the promise of more it's amazingly calm. It would be a different story on a north wind.
"I'm not sure you can have a calm day of fishing here," Weldon said.
I can see most of the lake from my vantage point and the wind is 15 or 20 at the moment and not a white cap in sight.
This is my kind of lake. I bet the fish will bite too.
