Skeet makes another good move

Skeet Reese is having one of those "magical days," like Mike Iaconelli and Carl Jocumsen have mentioned earlier this week. His timing has been impeccable. The best time for a magic day is on Sunday of a Bassmaster Elite Series event when you start in second place, 2 pounds out of the lead.

Reese wanted to fish this small island in front of the Town Creek store when he first came in here. But there were two non-tournament boats on it, so he sped over to the opposite bank in this wide creek mouth. He finished out his limit and started culling there.

Then Reese went maybe an hour without a bite. He just moved to the island, now unoccupied, and it paid off immediately. First he caught a small one that didn't help, then he caught a 5-plus-close-to-6-pounder that definitely did help.

Reese moved over to the riprap bank, 80 yards or less from the island, and caught a 4-pounder.It was a magical 10-minute flurry, possibly a game-changer.

How much total weight does he have now?

"Oh, I don't know, 19, 20, maybe 21?" he said with typical Skeet Reese nonchalance.

James Overstreet thinks he's closer to 22 pounds. I'm with JO on that.
