You just thought Aaron Martens was getting excited 30 minutes ago.
Martens just landed what he thinks is a 7-pounder, which almost slipped from his hand as he was grabbing it. Fired up doesn't begin to describe his mood.
"That fish could have come off so easily," Martens yelled. "It came off in my hands. Whoo-hoo! It's looking like a 19-pound day, boys!"
Later, Martens downsized the fish later to 6 1/2 pounds, but it would still be be big bass of the tournament, which currently stands as 5-11. Martens has a limit now, and he still has a 1-pounder to cull.
What a fitting moment from the two-time Angler of the Year and the current leader for a third AOY title.
