Herren, ironically, first man with a limit

At the anglers’ meeting Wednesday, after three days of practice on Chesapeake Bay, it was Matt Herren who remarked, “The Delaware River was a fish factory compared to this place.”

So who is the first Elite Series angler to put a five-bass limit in the boat this morning? Of course, Matt Herren. He caught his fifth keeper at 7:59 a.m., and, according to BASSTrakk, has a total weight of 10 pounds, 6 ounces.

For the record, it should be noted that Herren finished 14th with a three-day total of 24-8 a year ago at the Delaware River. He caught a 5-bass limit on only one of those three days.
