When officials from Anderson County Parks and Recreation were in the early planning stages for the Green Pond Landing launch facility, they sought input from local B.A.S.S. chapters. One thing the anglers recommended was moving the site of the ramp to a different side of the peninsula from where the previous single ramp had been, to give it more shelter from the wind.
It's a good thing the officials listened.
The wind is howling right now, and it's only expected to get worse as the day goes on.
Taking off at the current ramp location could be tricky. Taking off at the old one after the Classic practice period might have been nearly impossible.
