Can a defending champ be a surprise winner?

All week long, it seems like 2014 Classic champion Randy Howell has been a little bit overlooked as a potential winner for this year's event on Lake Hartwell.

That's probably because winning back-to-back Classics is an incredibly difficult feat only accomplished in the past by legendary anglers like Rick Clunn and Kevin VanDam. True fans of the sport just don't expect it.

But it's time to make some serious room in the discussion for Howell. He just took the lead with 31.5 pounds. He's got just over 16 in the livewell today.
