Davis is on fire

Going into this event, Mark Davis has a streak of four consecutive top three finishes in Elite competition — best in history. In 2005, Kevin VanDam posted four consecutive top two finishes (two Elite 50s, the Bassmaster Classic and the Busch Shootout). In 1972, Roland Martin posted four consecutive top three finishes, tied with Davis for best in B.A.S.S. history. The longest string of consecutive Top 12 finishes in Elite history is six by Skeet Reese and Aaron Martens. The longest string of top five finishes in B.A.S.S. history is 14 by Roland Martin (1971-73). Mark Davis will have to carry his streak into next season if he hopes to catch Martin.
