Yesterday, I mentioned that Boyd Duckett's first round lead was impressive, but fragile. As you know, he lost that lead yesterday after only bringing three bass to the scales for 6 pounds, 7 ounces. Local favorite Mike Iaconelli grabbed the lead.
But watch out for Morizo Shimizu, Bill Lowen and Kevin Short. Not only have they limited both days, but they're the only anglers with double digit catches both days (John Crews and Scott Rook have come close). If they're managing their fish effectively, I like their chances to be in this thing to the very end.
As for Duckett, he's in a tough spot. In 94th place in the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings going into Day 3, he knows that his only chance to get to the Bassmaster Classic is to win. He'll probably not get a better shot to do that the rest of this year, so he'll be doing absolutely everything he can to put himself on top.
