Britt Myers: “Normally, I wouldn’t do this.”

"Normally, I wouldn't do this," said Britt Myers, as set his rod down on the front deck and went back to the livewell to show us his 1 1/2-pound bass. "But I'm not doing anything else right now."

A keeper is something to be proud of today, from what we've seen so far.

Myers said he's also caught a short bass — a 10-incher. There's a 12-inch length limit on smallmouth and largemouth in the Delaware River. I asked our boat driver, Don Ahart, if  there were any spotted bass here. He said, "I have no idea. They're all rats."

Ahart has fished several tournaments on the river. He said 13 pounds is his all-time best 5-bass limit here.
