Day 2 dawns

Locals are amazed at the weather the first two mornings here on Cayuga Lake. Typically, the morning wind roils the water but the lake was glassy slick before the first boat launched today. While wind is usually a fisherman's friend, my boat driver, New York ace angler Ken Golub says calm conditions enable anglers to spot milfoil clumps where bigger bass hang out. The sun's not high enough to make that a factor, and that's one reason we're not seeing any bass catches
