Helping America's heroes at Toyota booth

When Michael Adrian learned one of his first volunteer assignments with the National Guard after moving to Alabama would be to help at the Toyota booth at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, he said, "I love fishing, so why not?"

Adrian, who is originally from Indiana and active duty with the Air Force, is helping at Toyota's casting contest and handing out temporary tattoos to kids, all near a giant camouflage Toyota truck.

Also near the truck, vets can learn more about the Hiring Our Heroes program, which helps military members find work after they leave the service. When signing up with Hiring Our Heroes, vets can input information about their experience, and the "Resume Engine" translates their service into qualifications that employers look for in the civilian workforce, explained Steve Brazil with Hiring Our Heroes. Then that resume can be uploaded into a system that is searchable by more than 1,600 employers.
