Martens figuring out the pattern

Aaron Martens' recent two-fish flurry, which also included a non-keeper, is a sign that he has started to figure out how the fish are positioned on this break-line today.

"They're not on top of it, like they were the other day," he said. "They're in about 8 to 10 feet, sitting in the grass."

The sky has brightened a bit, but it's still overcast. A few hours of bright sunshine would do wonders for the fishing.

On Day 1, there were a lot of fish caught in the last two hours, before the first flight's 3:45 check-in time. That's why several anglers didn't care for that early weigh-in time of 1:30 p.m. when it was proposed Friday. Of course, there was no fishing at all that day, so it didn't matter.
