Combs in quiet water

Combs runs into a deep cut that has quiet water. He is still power fishing aggressively. Combs picks up after a few minutes of casting and idles farther up the creek past Boyd Duckett.

Suddenly we can see seven other pros fishing in this area, including Bill Lowen.

"I've got two so far," he says.

Seconds later he swings and misses. The agony is apparent. Lowen is fishing slowly,  picking things apart.

Snyder tells me the lake has come up a foot since yesterday. If you like scenic, wooded shorelines, you'll enjoy fishing at West Point.

Lowen sets the hook with light spinning tackle and gingerly battles and lands keeper number three.
