Cherry drops by for a visit

Hank Cherry was the third and final visitor today to my home-away-from-home – the Highway 109 bridge. Cherry said he had about 10 1/2 pounds.

He worked some of the same riprap and bridge pilings that Kevin VanDam and Skeet Reese had fished before him. But, as has been mentioned repeatedly this week, that isn't wasted effort. You're just as likely to catch a bass following behind another angler as you are if you're the only man there all day.

These West Point Lake bass are extremely finicky this week.

As soon as Cherry fished under the bridge, my ride arrived. James Overstreet and I are going back to our hotel to dry out our equipment before the weigh-in.
