Not surprisingly, Kevin VanDam was one of the big movers and shakers on the first day at the St. Lawrence. He took a pretty considerable chunk out of Edwin Evers lead in the Angler of the Year race. Nevertheless, Evers leads by 29 points going into today's competition, and that's a pretty solid margin with just one tournament to go. If Evers can hold on to finish 25th or so in this event while KVD stays at or near the top, Evers will be in the driver's seat going into the final event on Lake St. Clair. Yes, St. Clair is practically home water to KVD, but Evers has done really well on similar waters in the past, including an Elite win on Erie in 2007.
