Tournament fishing a game of decisions and timing and several competitors could be heard grousing about the difficulties their game plans encountered.

A dejected Aaron Martens said he was "doing the right thing, the area just got cold."


He said the temp gauge read 39 degrees when he arrived in the morning and he simply stayed too long. He'll start somewhere else tomorrow.


Bill Lowen, on the other hand, left his best area mid-day and regretted that decision. He'd had execution issues early -- he lost four bass in the first five minutes and had one break him off behind a cable -- but he knows they're there and they'll bite.
