Both Mike Iaconelli and Ish Monroe competed in a Major League Fishing event on Pokegama Lake just over a year ago. Iaconelli said he didn’t catch one northern pike during that event, but he caught “about 40” during practice yesterday.
You’re likely to see a number of northern pike caught today. Those pike bites are an indication of why Monroe’s and Iaconelli’s experience on Pokegama isn’t necessarily an advantage.
“It’s a different time of year,” Iaconelli said. “I remember it being warm when we were here last year. We’re more in a fall pattern now.”
