After a fruitless first couple of stops near the launch, Iaconelli is back to the area where he did his damage yesterday.
That’s a departure from his plan. He had intended on hitting a half dozen spots before getting here. But with so many spectator boats trailing him that would have been a chore. Not to mention the allure of this place had to be like a magnet pulling on him.
He caught four of the keepers he weighed here yesterday.
It’s also out of the wind and the constant chop of the Gulf of Conroe.
It’s hard to second guess any of these guys. And you can’t do it here. A quick look at the map shows a likely travel corridor for pre-spawn and post-spawn fish.
It’s just a natural funnel with all the right things around it. The difference is he’s earlier and the fish seem to be moving later in the day.
But if he picks one off here early of any size it will be a good sign.
