Two Classics rolled into a third

There was a sense of deja vu – times two – in the Day 1 leaderboard at the Bassmaster Classic. In the top two spots were Jason Christie and Edwin Evers, who battled it out at Oklahoma’s Grand Lake in the 2016 Classic, with Evers prevailing. In third and fourth places, respectively, were Jordan Lee and Brent Ehrler, who went head-to-head in the 2017 Classic at Texas’ Lake Conroe.

In another similarity, Christie was leading on Day 2 before Evers blew everyone away with a 29-3 limit on Day 3 to win, and Ehrler was leading on Day 2 before Lee caught 27-4 on Day 3 to rise from 15th place to victory.

So at least after Day 1 at Lake Hartwell, you’ve got a “greatest hits” version of the last two Bassmaster Classics.
