Swindle with quick limit

Gerald Swindle started the Championship Monday morning of the Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Neely Henry in fourth place, but it didn't take long for him to make a move.

Starting about a quarter-mile downstream of Coosa Landing takeoff, Swindle posted up on a stretch of Water Willow and tossed a white swim jig through the rooty "Coosa River Grass" that lines the shores of Neely Henry.

He is retrieving the jig by swimming it and shaking it "Alabama Style" from a third of the way into the grass out through the outside edge.

The approach has put a quick limit of chunky Neely Henry largemouth in the boat for close to 10 pounds by 7:20 this fine morning.
